Getting the Wheeling Fever
There are very few things that I don't like about my 85 4x4, but the park brake system is one of them. Way too many moving parts. My truck has spent most of it's life in the mid west, so it has seen plenty of salt. So the pivot where the front cable joins the rear cables is rusted, the pivots on the backing plates bind, and I'm tired of fixing it. So I want to install a pinion brake on it, preferably at the front of the rear drive shaft. Any ideas where I can get one? Does anyone sell a kit? The Suzuki Samarais used them, would it fit? I want to fix my AC this year, but not before I get a working park brake.

Thanks, I think that's just the site I've been looking for. I like the replacement crossmember with the park brake kit on it. Like I said, mine has seen it's share of salt. There are a couple of thin spots in the left frame rail. Luckily, the shop that I'm buying has a pipe bender, a couple mig welders, and a really nice alignment rack. I'm thinking this thing is going to end up with a tube frame eventually.
