I'd recommend using some WD40 on the o-rings and not fuel. They will slide right in.
You can either replace the washers or just sand them down a little to make them flat again. They are cheap so I'd go with new ones.

The FSM says to use gas, so that is what I would use.

While sanding them flat does help, you need to make them "dead soft" for maximum sealing. To do this you need to anneal them. To do this, as stated above hang them on a piece of wire and heat them to cherry red, let cool. You can use a small propane torch to do this. Owing British MCÆs all my life I have annealed many a copper gasket including solid copper head gaskets.

I know I need to go ahead and replace all of my o-rings on the injectors and use some gas on them to help slide them back in to place. Do I need to replace the banjo washers on the fuel rail or will it be fine to use the existing ones? If I need to replace them, how many are there that I need to replace?
Anything else that I need to replace while I have it tore down that MIGHT be causing this gas leak?

I'd replace ALL of the little rubber hoses for vacuum and coolant that are easier to access while the intake is loose. I just did this on my 22re.

I'd also recommend replacing the fuel pulse dampener, because I know they leak and they're very hard to see while the intake is on the engine. It's on the firewall end of the fuel rail, on the passenger side rail, below the intake mani.

So, where do I get a fuel pulse dampener and how much do they cost? Do I need to get all of my o-rings and banjo washers from the dealer or go to a parts store? Let me know...Thanks for the help.

Thanks, I have a feeling that the banjos might be my main problem since I just re-used them the first time instead of resealing them or replacing them....

I rarely am one to argue with the FSM as I'm a dealership tech, but I've used wd-40 on every single rubber o-ring and seal I've ever replaced and never (knock on wood) had any problems.

Very interesting about the copper washer treatment there. I did not know that. Kewl.
