i need new tires. i want pro comp 30's but the wife is giving me hell to get regular tires. so whats close to those tires. i really dont want to spend more then $100 a tire. im more of a corner taking guy and working on high speed. i might not even install my lift kit if i get the right tires that make it fun to drive.

If your a corner taking guy and working on speed then I would suggest that you dont go with 30's. Also, installing the lift kit would make corners a bit hairy at higher speeds. although, when I got my new wheels with a better backspacing, it gave my sporty a wider stance and It also became alot more stable when cornering.

That being said, I do have a tire that I heard was pretty good but I cannot remember what it is called. If I remember what the name is I will post it here.

30's would be fine, just get one that uses a 17-20" rim and are about 10-12" wide. then you can corner like nobody else, but just don't hit a pothile and don't dare take it in the dirt. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

I heard the Toyo Open Country are alright. They are more of a road tire than an off road tire but from looking at the tread it looks like they would be alright for light off road stuff. Not sure what the price is though.

Toyo Open Countrys are SO FREAKIN' EXPENSIVE!!! If you're looking for 30"s under $100/tire look at Dunlop, they're decent. Stay away from the Toyos if price is a slightest concern.

If price is a big concern and you want offroad tires that look tough, consider Hi-Tec Retreads... I know you're thinking "retreads? bah!" but they have lasted really well for me, and they are a bargain.

I opted for the green diamond tires...kinda cool... I have done some little tests of my own with wet pavement and it's really hard for me to get these tires to spin! With my old tires (also from this website but without green diamond) it wasn't hard on wet pavement to spin them.

Also, if you care much about the environment, this might interest you: It takes 22 gallons of oil to make a new tire but only 7 gallons to retread an old casing. Imagine the petroleum savings if everyone used retreaded tires... I know that's not gonna happen but it's something to think about. And most new tires, once the tread wears out, can be retreaded at least 2 times.

I too am running the Green Diamond retreads. I am using the 30-9.50R-15 A/T size but you could also use 235-75-15.
