Need a Spot

Tomorrow I'm going to help a friend change the front main seal on a 1993 Mightymax 3.0 Liter P/U. I've read some posts about the balancing pulley going bad on the 3.0's. How will we know if it is bad? Also what other unexpected things should I be looking for? Thanks !! Dondobe

Body Damage is Cool

A lot of 3.0l engines have had crank bolt problems. There is a replacement crank bolt available. You may want to replace it while you are there.
Just be careful about removing the pulley. As long as the pulley is not damaged when it's removed, it should be fine.
It seems that often the crank bolt fails or loosens up, causing the pulley to wobble, then the crank gets chewed up. It cascades from the crank bolt.
