Any reason to stay away?

2000 S 4x4 V6 5-spd, 68k, $5700
It's green and looks to be in good health.

I have read a lot of mixed reviews on the 98+ Rodeo. I had a 95 before and it was great except for some auto trans problems.

My reasoning with this one is being the S model, it has no power windows to break, it's a manual trans that will not break (under normal use), and a nice 205HP engine. Also, I imagine that even a few years from now I could get a couple of grand for it, especially since I have other cars and wouldn't put much mileage on it.

Are the 4wd systems on this model any better or worse than the previous generation?

Thanks for any help,
John

looks like a pretty good deal.

The main things to look after is oil usuage.

Check the FAQ's about oil usuage and cleaning up the egr.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
not too bad a price if everything checks out. i had a '99 V6 5spd. 4wd that ran into serious transmission problems. i had the truck on the beach and the bellhousing filled with sand, and ate the clutch and throwout bearing. the manual is not a sealed transmission. if you don't drive on soft sand not an issue, but if you do, it might be a deal breaker.

otherwise, a great truck, espescially with some 265/75 and some good shocks.

Good price. I haven't had any probems with my 2001 and I wheel it pretty hard (no problems, that is, that weren't my fault <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the replies... I am still debating it, although my girlfriend wants me to stop talking about it and decide one way or another by 36 minutes ago...

Adding an Alpine supercharger kit for $2500 doesn't sound too bad either!!
