It's slow to engage, but has been reliable, and seems plenty strong enough for my wheeling.

I agree. Had it up to high speeds, put it through rough stuff and it always has gotten me out of trouble. However, as Mark said, it is a bit slow to engage, I have to sit there creeping forward an inch at a time to get it to lock. Aside from that miniscule setback, I love it.

It can be slow to disengage too, or hang until you relieve pressure on the splines. Not a biggie.

IMHO the finest factory locker available. I run ARBs (the other best locker IMHO) in the Chili but would not hesitate to run one - and my wife's runner has one. So does my son's 88 pickup now that I put one in. Very strong design, and if the actuating circuit fails (not that this ever happens) it remains locked, or remains unlocked. And you can manually lock it in a pinch in that event.

Can't do that with an ARB...

how do you manualy lock the locker??

mine had stopped working 8 months ago and now that winter is coming i'd like to get it working again

im not sure if its the locker or the circuit because i have done the grey wire mod and a few months after that i started having problems with the locker not engaging sometimes or being difficult to disengage

Unbolt the actuator assembly, and use a screwdriver in the teeth of the gear inside, and slide the gear to the right
Heres a pic. Its the gear circled in red.
