i am thinking of getting the jeeperman rock railz, they look great and protect what needs to be. but i have a question concerning the rocker panel below the door, what can i do to protect that? its got a couple scratches already and i want to prevent that from happening in the future, so any suggestions? get a set of rubicon rocker panel guards?

To protect it from scratches? You could Rhinoline just that area. There are a few companies that make rocker guards as well, however if all you are wanting is scratch protection, go for the cheapest ones that go up high. I'm sure someone powdercoats theirs, otherwise your new rocker protection will just get scratched as well. The rock rails will keep your rocker panels from getting dented from below and may stick out enough to keep any rocks away on the sides, but they won't offer any side protection from scratches.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
My answer to keeping the body in good condition in that area was to install nerf bars. Now the nerfs just slide over rocks. Well worth the investment and they take a lot of abuse too.

Body Damage is Cool
<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> nerf bars! That cracks me up! Most nerf bars are not made strong enough or designed properly to protect and slide the Jeep over large boulders.

There are so many styles of good rock sliders that will fit the bill, here. Just keep looking 'til you find what you need. We need to stop recommending stuff we bolted on our Jeeps

Now the nerfs just catch the rocks that rocker panel sliders wouldn't even be touching.

Fixed it for ya!
