Need a Spot
My 89 Toyota pickup 22RE Deluxe has a 6' 6" Fisher Minute Mount plow on it (bought it that way). Used it for the first time yesterday. It plowed very well. But I need to get used to plowing with a standard trans (pain in the ass). From time to time I could smell something burning. My guess would be the clutch. Maybe I'm wrong and you guys can point me in the right direction. But if I'm right and it is the clutch, is there a heavy duty clutch or something out their that I can have installed? Which brand would you recommend and why?

Thanks.....

Getting the Wheeling Fever
If you're riding the clutch a lot then that most likely is it. If you're plowing at slower speeds like in a parking lot and not on the highway, maybe try putting it in 4LO and benefit from that. Sorry, I don't have a suggestion for a heavy duty cluth, haven't had to do mine yet.

Were you in low range in the T-Case, you should be?

I have had real good luck with a CenterForce I in my truck, been beating on it for seven years!!!!!

I was not in 4LO. I honestly didn't think it would make a difference. I will definetly try it next time. I guess you learn something new every day.

Thanks.....

4LO will make a difference, a BIG difference, in fact a 2.28 times difference, 1st gear will be over twice as low and 2nd gear will even be a bit lower than 1st gear is in high range.
