Need a Spot
yes definitely use a toyota gasket... some people use thinner head gaskets to get a bit more compression but i never have and why mess with reliability for 1-3 HP? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

if you have a haynes manual i believe there are a few spots it reccomends to have silicone on. i believe these are the water passages. i cant remember where or how much though.

otherwise no slicone on the headgasket.

No sealer. You do apply a SMALL dab to each of the front corners of the block, but that is all. The valve cover half moons which go on the head after it's installed take a thin layer of sealant before being set in place, more so to hold them there when you put the valve cover back on. Cover gasket; no sealant. Make sure all your mating surfaces are CLEAN.
