Help.

I had my clutch done early in '05...Just today I had it done again!

My current mechanic (old family friend that I trust implicitly) said he found the "synchronizors" or "synchronizing gears" were worn due to (possibly) the flywheel not being turned last time the clutch was worked on!

The previous shop that did the clutch work...are they at fault? If I can find the work order and they didn't turn it, do they pay for THIS last work? What are my chances of coming out on top?

Sigh. Little help here?

TIA

Dana

Try bleeding your clutch slave and master cylinder before you call your synchroes gone. Also might try dumping in a quart of Penzoil Synchromesh.

Just a thought

I don't understand how not having the flywheel turned can mess up synchros. Even so, theres no way you can pin this on the previous mechanic. You probably have something else wrong in the hydraulics.

You are driving a 14 year old vehicle. Syncros are wear items. After 14 years, they will be worn.

I really do not think the flywheel had anything to do with it. Actually, I don't see how it could ever come close to causing the problem.

I agree with the above. Right now, bleed/replace the hydraulics and change the fluid in the transmission. At the best, it will make it driveable. At the worst, it is time for a new/used tranny or a rebuild.

Good Luck,
Michael
