Getting the Wheeling Fever
My heater stopped working yesterday. More specifically, the blower is not getting power. The motor itself is working and I found that the resistor pack is good as well. When I turn the dash switch to the on position, I can hear the relay click behind the dashboard giving me reason to believe it is working as well. Am I overlooking anything in between the relay and the resistor pack (fuse, another relay) or do you think I just have a short in the power wires to the blower. Just wanted to ask before I started ripping into the wiring.

behind the glove box and to the left is the fuse box that willz is talking about, and yes, one is for the heater and the other is for the a/c, give it a look, I believe that they are 20's and 30's.

Well something is causing it to short it maybe the motor going bad.
Have you tryed to spin it by hand with it on low?
How did you test the motor?
Also what did you do to test the blower resistor?
You sure one of those aren't bad?

It was the heater fuse in the little tiny fuse block. Doh! Didn't know that little bugger was there. Took a look and sure enough, the 20amp heater fuse was blown. Everything else checked out fine. Heater works now. Thank you all for your help and pardon my blindness.

Keep an eye on it and if it blows again you got a problem.....but I spose you already knew that <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

Fuses will sometimes get tired and go....even though nothing is wrong.

I describe that fuse on my blower repair page:

If you find the fuse blowing again, you might have a look at the brushes inside the blower motor. When they start to wear out, they can cause excessive current flow in the motor. When mine went, I never blew that fuse, but I did have trouble with the blower motor overheating and shutting down periodically:

My blower control only works on MAX. Is there an easy fix or am I replacing the switch?

Read the page I posted a link to above:

First line of text there is:
"My blower only works on high speed..."

The rest of the page has the fix.
