Hi I'm new at posting but been reading for a while now. Does any one have any advice or experience at installing a remote care starter on a 98 Rodeo..Or could refer me to any web sites that may have info. please and thank you. I just purchased a new Jensen JKRS3 remote car starter and would like to install it my self..Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ryan

Do you have factory keyless entry and alarm? I don't think they started chipping the keys until 2000, but if your factory system uses an RFID key system to prevent hotwiring you'll need a bypass module.

If all these answers are no, did the system you bought come with alarm and keyeless entry? Of course that makes it a bit more complicated.

Start with a subscription to www.alldatadiy.com

You pay $25 and you can get the wiring diagram for every circuit in your vehicle to help you identify what wires to tap into.

the rest I would assume is following teh directions that came with the kit. I am going to deal with my girlfriends' jetta after Xmas.

Here's a wiring diagram for a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo , Hope this helps!

I found this at www.bulldogsecurity.com they make security and remote start systems. They have a lot of good info to help with the installation of their systems so I'm sure a lot of it will help with any brand out there.
