I need to kill the power to the fuel pump so I can change my fuel filter but I don't see a fuel pump fuse. Is it on the one that says EFI ? If not how do I do it?

I don't think there is a fuel pump fuse. But from what I can remember, it is tied into the EFI fuse.

Why not just disconnect the battery?

Oh...and here's a link that might help with the job

If you have a body lift it will make it a lot easier.

I wanted to kill the pump with the motor running so i could empty the lines of fuel before I take them off. Thanks for the link but it really doesn't tell how to shut the fuel pump off with the motor running. best I can find is the Haynes manual says to unplug the pump power source at the pump.

When I did mine I just slowly loosened the line and let the fuel come out. It diddnt shoot out or anything, just a little flowed out. Nothing to worry aout.

I guess that's what i'll do too. I just hate to have all that gas in a drain pan. Sometimes I have enough static electricity in me to light a 60 watt bulb, talk about a safety issue....

Go to RadioShack and get yourself an anti-static ground strap that goes on your wrist. Hook it to the frame and your good to go!

There is a bleed off fitting at the end of the fuel rail, just drain the gas into a small container.

Under the backseat (driver side) is an access plate in the floor with three screws. Open it and you'll find a harness plug that runs into the gas tank access plate. Unplug it with the truck running and it will run the truck dry.

I just did it today. Easier than I thought it would be. (for once!)
