Need a Spot
I need a recommendation for where to get a IAC (stepper motor) for my 1995 Montero w/3.0 motor. I tried to order one from Rock auto but they said Standard quit making them and they couldn't get it anymore. I can order a ac-delco from them for about the same price,, $124, but I seem to remember someone here not recommending ac-delco,not for sure.

Has anyone tried the rebuilt $89 dollar ones from florida?
I appreciate the help, happy new year!
Thanks!

Thanks !

That's a bummer on the Standard. So Rock Auto still has an AC Delco offering?

As for the rebuilts, I got one from Crebo-Tech for my 95. It was the wrong one. He did not know of the 95-96 having a 24V setup, and hence, it seems, a different ISC. He was completely willing to refund me. So in that respect, I would not make statements about avoiding him. But I would recommend that you make sure he remembers that you need a different one that what he has sent out for earlier Monteros.

Fort me, I was in a jam and really wanted my truck running "normal" again. I looked at the two and the difference seemed to be the pintle. So I swapped them and while it does run reasonably well, it still isn't quite right. In particular, it idles very high until warm (as much as 1800+), then back to 750 or so. On my last tank, when the weather finally turned cold overall here, I got some pretty crappy mileage. I am wondering if this also is a result of the "bastard ISC." I was planning on getting the Standard one soon, while I still should be able to recoup a chunk of the Crebo on ebay. (Still have other pintle.)

Good luck and let me know if you find another source for the Standard.

I found the site for Standard Motor Products. web page

Boy what a crappy site! I did find my way to "dealers" in Ohio, where I am. I have not called any to see what prices they can get.

I had trouble finding one from Car-Part. All the yards I called were either bozos who didn't know what I was talking about and/or not willing to go look to see if it was there, or they were only interested in selling it with the TB assembly. Didn't try MS, though.
