Maybe your front rotors are warped? This is said to be common on the T100s.

I replaced with Brembos and ceramic pads at ~75K. I am pretty easy on my brakes, lots of highway cruising and use lower gears for downhill coasting w/o brakes at all.

I don't think my rear brakes do much - they still look like new after 80K. Maybe my proportioning valve should be adjusted.

Don't forget to drain and bleed new brake fluid on all 4 wheels periodically.

Maybe I will upgrade to rear disks at 100K or whenever they need replacing. If I am correct it can be about $1000 for the whole kit? Should be a pretty easy install though.

Who makes those parts kits Scott?

front range off road. i have a write up here on the board. it is probably closer to $1300 when you are done buying calipers unless you can find them in a junkyard. it is a really slick setup. i like it. i hate drums with a passion.

I put cross drilled rotors on the front and they have worked great for me. The only problem is when I am leaving the driveway and the first time i hit the brakes at the end of the driveway while they are cold they dont seem to grab very good, but after that they are fine and stop my 35s without trouble.

You can adjust the load proportioning valve on the rear axle upwards to force the rear brakes to engage more often, this would help you stop.

Shuddering front end while braking is definately warped rotors.

sounds like warped front rotors to me too... you may want to check the front bearings while you are in there and whatever you do, dont get the rotors resurfaced.... trust me.

I have always been interested in converting the rear drums to disc brakes. Unfortunately, you lose ABS in the process.

OTOH, my ABS isn't working anyway.

OTOOH, $1300 is a lot of $$ to change the brakes.

OTOOOH, I've been having rear brake trouble ever since I had the rear axle bearings and seals replaced. Sometimes the rear brakes won't release until the truck moves slightly backward.

OTOOOOH, I'm not sure how much longer the T will be able to stay around... given the rear seat passenger safety issue that I belatedly realized.

trading in my truck for a Subaru WRX Sti sounds real nice sometimes to me....which would solve my lack of power issues, leaking valve covers, rubbing tires...etc
