There's a junkyard nearby who has a '91 4cyl 2WD that and wants $350 for the frame. Is this a good price? I've already given it a thorough check using my frame tester (4# sledge). Hopefully I can get him to throw in the gas tank and steering box. Also does anyone know what is involved in matching up the 3.0 mounts to a 4 cyl frame? Do they bolt up just the same or is more modification required?

Should be no problem at all with the mounts. I'd try and get a rolling chasis though. It'll make your life much easier when you go to do the swap.

i suppose you are right, but I forgot to mention that I am going to do a SAS. I've already got the 44 front a 60 rear to swap in. I was planning on building the frame up first and getting the axles on, then swap everything over (so I am only without a vehicle for a limited time)

If you're doin and SAS from the frame up then why waste your time with the 4x4 frame? Get yourself a 2wd frame the arches are higher and your not gonna be any further behind then with the 4x4 one, might be bit cheeper too.

Yea exactly thats what I said .

Sorry that was a silly oversight. Sounds like a good plan then. I checked around here and frames are about $200CAD if they are minty. I don't know about availability there though. I'd try and get as much attached as possible.

Body Damage is Cool
that's a little steep for a frame IMHO. if you're going to do an SAS, it's a good base to start with, though

I paid $40 for the 85 shortbox frame that's strapped to my Mom's deck...

I know its a the price is a bit high, but to be able to find anything else in good shape would require me to travel out of the rust belt. I am going to stop over there tomorrow morning (actually later today since its past midnight) and pay for it
