after i buy the $350 adapter kit from marlin, can i just get another stock tcase and bolt them up. i know id have to get a new driveshaft, but im not sure how much all of this will cost. i dont want to start spending money on something and then realize it is a lot more expensive than i thought.

It can add up to about $1000, but nowadays there are more products available and it can be done cheaper.

The basics that you need:

the adapter
shorten rear drive shaft $50-$75
lengthen front drive shaft $75-$100
buy the donor t-case and modify it (or buy a modified case from Marlin, Inchworm, etc.).
get a new crossmember to protect the second case
buy a second rubber t-case mount to bolt to the second case to the crossmember
buy a cool third shifter knob, like a skull with light up eyes.

That's where the big $ goes.

Roll Me Over
Lessee...

The first time I did it cost over $3K.
Marlin ultimate 23 spline w/ V6 adapter: $2400
Drive shafts: $750
Twin Stick: $200
crossmember: $50

Prices have dropped quite a bit since then, however.

Need a Spot
Sorry to chime in, but what about Marlin Crawler's "Crawl Box?" I'm sort of oblivious as to all the transfer case stuff, but it should include a transfer case (or something with the same purpose and different name) AND the adapter AND shifter knob (sorry, no skulls though). I'd figure it would be everything needed except mod's to the floor board, drive lines, and cross member.

Am I reading this right or am I confused?

Called "Crawl Box Dual Crawler Kit"

Dual cases are really 1 1/2 cases, that is the 1/2 part. You also need another gear driven case behind that, preferably 23 spline.

93 4X4 ext-cab, auto, SR5, 3.4 V6, supercharged, 2.1" pulley, URD fuel mods, Aquamist WI, IPT valve body mod, dual cases, 4" superlift, Alcan springs, 33 BFG MT, ARB locked front & rear, 5.29 US Gears, RB 1" BL, 1.5" BJ spacers, TJM T-17, Warn m8000.

Not exactly. In addition to the driveshaftS (and driveline angles) you would need a new crossmember.

Plus, your truck likely has a G series transmission and forward shift transfer case that will need to be converted to a top shift case in order to work with the dual transfer cases. You can likely swap your forward shifting case for a complete top shifter from Inchworm or Marlin for an additional price.

yeah i know i have to replace the crossmember. i was planning on doing that first w/ one from budbuilt. i do have a g52 transmission though so i guess i would have to convert it. if i had a r151 would i have to convert it to top shift?
