Need a Spot
Would love to do an upgrade to my 88' Sami. The vehicle is so small I often turn on the headlights during daylight hours and then forget to turn the off. Not good.

Has anyone found a solenoid that can be placed on the bias of the ignition switch that could hold the lights on whenever the ignition is on. Would love to hear fi anyone has found a part number. Or, am I the only Samurai that has had this need for illumination.

Puffer..

Your local Advance/Pep Boys type store will have a generic headlight warning buzzer on the shelf. You simply wire it in per the instructions on the card and you'll get an audible warning whenever the ignition is off and the lights are on.

A headlight control system like the one you describe is pretty straightforward to install and wire into your system. There are two basic types û the high-voltage or low-voltage control. The low-voltage control is similar to new-car daytime headlight systems û it runs the lights at a reduced voltage during the day for longer lamp life. The high-voltage system is simpler, and thereÆs only one major component needed to put one together û a continuous-duty lighting relay. These can be found in any good auto parts or electronics shop. One example made by Omron Corporation is rated at 35A, is weatherproof and includes a mounting bracket, all for $6.45. You do have to figure out your own wiring scheme and splice your own connectors though! An easier solution can be had from any good auto accessories supplier. JC Whitney (though I donÆt personally use them) offers both types û part numbers ZX135226A and ZX135227R for $24-27. Those come with instructions. IÆd be surprised if Pep Boys or NAPA didnÆt have something similar.
