Nope; FAI is about 380 mi N of Anc, and Augustine is south of ANC, closer to Homer and Seldovia.

Alaska Volcano Observatory Click on the map in the upper left side. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

The Ring of Fire is pretty much coastal; we have earthquake activity in the Interior, compliments of the Alaska Range. We're seismic zone 3 up here for building codes. Found this for ya--note the plume: [Linked Image]

That's pretty sweet looking. Heard about that the other day on the radio, and I also thought the same thing!!

Good to know you're far away Margie!

They were worried last week about a tsuami landslide; it's happened before. Sure would hate to see Homer/Seldovia take the brunt--would ruin a couple good clamming spots; only 70 mi away, IIRC.

Make no mistake tho'-- Ma Nature gives us some nice ka-BOOMs once in awhile. Keeps the stress off the teutonic plates at least!

I thought the teutonic knights dissapeared into history hundreds of years ago. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Or maybe you mean "tectonic" plates <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />
