I have a 91' Rodeo with a 3.1L V6 and a BW 5speed T5 tranny. I replace the clutch and noticed that when it runs there is this ticking noise coming from inside the bell housing. I discovered that the noise is coming from a loose pushrod coming out of the slave cylinder that pushes against the throw-out arm containing the throw-out bearing. I also noticed that the throw-out bearing is resting against the fingers of the clutch pressure plate enough that it is turning constantly. However, there is no pressure being applied to the throw-out arm from the slave cylinder because I have plenty of free play or slack in the pedal. It appears that there should be some sort of spring pulling the throw-out bearing/arm away from the clutch when it is not being used, but I just don't see one. I have looked and looked for some kind of hole with which to attach a spring and I don't see one. What am I missing? Can any of you guys tell me if I positively am missing a spring and where does it attach?
