Getting the Wheeling Fever
I want to replace the soggy carpeting in my 1987 Dodge Raider with molded vinyl flooring....It rains a lot out here on the oregon coast and it would be easy to clean up after off-roading....I found a supplier but they only list it for 1983-1991 Mitsubishi Montero....Could someone please verify for me that the interior floor pan is the same for either 1987 Dodge or Mitsubishi....I hope so because it comes in cool colors (and camo too)!!!....

Here is another supplier for great trim to fit rubber mat selection for rear cargo area...Check out the "Shark Tooth" and "Elephant Bark" rubber products!!!

You should be good. What happens though when water gets under the covering? Why not get big, heavy duty, floor mats? Mine came from Wally-World for more like $40 for the front and rear (no cargo). They're big, durable, and pliable. Plus they come out easily when you need.

Daaang...$289 for mine, and only in black...but heck, black is what I'd get if I was gonna go that direction. I think I'd rather Herc it than put these matts down.

I've seen a few interiors done with Herculiner. They look so cool! The best job I've seen was sprayed on a Samurai interior.

I did mine with the duplicolor brand bed coating from WallyWorld. I think a gallon was $40. I got 4 coats out of it. Holding up good so far. Local guys will Herc a Heep interior for $130ish I believe but I wheel on a budget and it is my DD.

I had been debating whether to do a bedliner coating on the floor or go with the vinyl flooring....The bedliner coating does make sense and can also deaden a lot of sound as well as protect all metal, and does not trap water....I was planning on buying some Durabak brush on coating to do inside the wheel wells....Durabak also comes in a lot of great colors...Check out the links below for their website....The photos of the Isuzu Trooper and Toyota Land Cruiser painted inside and outside are very convincing.....

How to Apply Durabek

I purchased Durabak in the past from this online store to do the wheel wells on my Suburban....They are the only source that I could find that sells in quarts....And they take PayPal!....This is great so you can do a little area at a time, such as a wheel well each day....Remember...Once you open a can you have to use it all!!!!

The guys on one of the Brit forums said they use that stuff multiple times. They make a whole in the can, so they can poor it into a containter, and then use a sheet metal screw or large bolt to screw back into the hole when done. Said it keeps it fresh, and they can use whenever...I think they make two wholes, one on top, one on bottom...top one is a "vent" hole...I figured I try that. I've also heard you can use 2 pieces of saran wrap one on lid, one on top of can, and that will enable it to be reopened...not sure if either method works.
