 Power Steering Reservoir leak...Possible to seal it ?

Got a 1994 4X4 V6, 137k miles
Anyone else experience a power steering leak at the top of the PS Reservoir ? Its actually leaking right at the underside of the top where the circle top meets the canister. Leaking on the left side where there is a bracket welded to the reservoir (hose clamps there).
I've had some really bad luck here. Tried rebuilding the pump myself and bent pulley taking it off. Finally bought remanfactured pump (& new pulley) and now find out the reservoir is bad.
I;ve called multiple junk yards in the area, can't find just reservoir, kragen/napa, etc no one sells just reservoir.
So any ideas on how to stop the leak ? Maybe JB weld, or RTV around the welds ? I just can't believe it would leak in that spot.
Dealer price around $130 from 1sttoyotaparts.

I bet if you can get it off and get it clean ( that will be the hard part ) you could have it brazed (sp?) or maybe JB would work. Not sure what kind of metal it's made out of...

Yeah I second brazing, or better yet low temp silver braze. I bet you could even silver solder it if you clean all the cad plating off from around the area that is leaking. Chucky MoMo <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

That is a crimped seam with a rubber o-ring type gasket. Brazing would seal but there is the gasket in there that will burn up. If you use JB Weld make sure to rough up the surface real good so it will stick and seal.

Hey guys I think I might have figured out the cause of the leak. The reservoir was leaking at two of the crimp spots, closest to the left (passenger) side. I replaced the belt with a toyota brand belt, but I'm thinking it is too short causing reservoir to not be horizontal (level with engine).
This I believe is the cause of the leak...the reservoir is tilted to the left so it leaks from the left side because it is overfilled (because its not horizontal).
Can anyone confirm on your V6.....that the reservoir should rest horizontal with engine, not tilted to the left like mine is. ? I'll try to reloosen belt tensioner (& 14mm at block) and try to get reservoir more level.
