Genaral Grabber AT2 Has anyone used this tire? I just priced them in www.tirerack.com for 104.00 for the 285/75R16 size. They look like the BFG but 80 dollars cheaper. The thread pattern looks the same and they even have the rim protector lip. Here are some pictures of both tires: Thanks,
Jaime

They remind me of the Pro Comp AT's a lot: General is a reputable tire brand that has been around for some time now. I don't know how the rubber compounds or sidewalls are compared to the other tires they share similarities with; but the tread design is darn close.

Can't speak for that exact tire but, I had a set of General Grabber AP 31X10.5X15 on my 85 - K5 Blaser and they were some of the best tires I ever owned. Great balance, execelent traction and had over 96K miles on them when when I sold the truck and they still had tread left. Now on the other hand I had a set of General Ameristeel tires on my 3/4T pickup and they where . Traction in rain & snow was and they had to be balanced evey other rotation.

Thanks for the information, I currently have a set of Pirelli Scorpion ST 265/70R16 that IÆve had for about three years. These tires are starting to develop cracks on the sidewalls and I need to replace them.
In October I purchased a set of ProComp MT 285/75R16 tires on 16x8 steel rims that I put on when I take the trooper off-road. The troop looks great with these tires but the gas mileage really goes down. When I went to Moab in December I ran these tires 2400 miles with no problems. Great tires with nice hummmmm to go with it.
So IÆm just looking for some low priced tires to drive on the street with. Plus the troop looks somewhat funny with a 3ö lift and the 30 ¢ inch tires.
IÆm planning on putting these tires on the stock 16x7 aluminum trooper rims which from what I searched here, should not be a problem.
Again thanks for your input.
