Getting the Wheeling Fever
Does anyone have suggestions on where to have my ring and pinions upgraded? I'm running 31" Mud Rovers on my near stock 86 4Runner, and need to go to at least 4.56 gears if not 4.88's. I want to put an EZ/Aussie/Lockrite locker in the rear at the same time. Before I tracked down someoen myself, I wanted to see if anyone had recommendations in my area. I live in Northeast GA.

TIA

I'm not too far away from you in western North Carolina and am looking for the same. Most shops I've found I haven't been able to confirm their reputations and they charge $300+ soooo...

I've pretty much decided to send mine to ZUK. Sure, shipping will be a hassle and cost a little more in the long run...but you'll have the peace of mind knowing it was done right the first time

94 4Runner 3.slow-5spd, 4" coils, 1.5" BJ spacers, 2" BL, 35x12.50 Nitto's, 5.29's with a front Lockrite and a rear Detroit; 250k miles and lots of offroad time...and by offroad I mean on jackstands.

You boys need to make nice with a local toyota head that has done their gears themselves. There's a really steep learning curve, but once you do a diff or four, it's really not that hard with the right tools. It's too bad you're not closer to Memphis... I'd be happy to help you out when I had time.

If you plan on beating the rig hard, then make sure you pony up for the solid spacer.
