Need a Spot
Ok I got the motorcraft 2100 and sh*t canned the Webber but I got one with 1.14 instead of 1.08 so I am still pushing 300 cfm and its a smog less carb so I lost my vacuum advance so I just advanced the timing a bit to about 8-10 btdc but when i put a load on the motor it wants to bogg down a bit triple checked for vacuum leaks and found none there is a spot on the passenger side of the carb towards the front bottom of the barrel for a vacuum port and I am looking towards hooking up to the advance there, I am positive I have it tuned right its pulling about 20" vac and has great throttle responce when you snap the throttle but wants to fall on its face when I get on it slow what do you guys think hook up the advance or too much cfm?? any other thoughts would help too thanks

That's where my vacuum advance hose is happy. Try it! I have a 1.08 2100 off a 70 something Ford 302.

Is it a new one? old? been rebuilt? A rebuild kit for mine costs 13 bucks. Easiest carb to rebuild I ever owned.

YES you need the advance hooked up! Hook it anywhere there is constant vac! Also I have never got a 114 to work worth a damn! The 108 is a bit too rich but works pretty good..

Doesn't it depend more on the size of the jets? I have a friend that been using a 1.21 for a couple of years and it works good enough to call it a vast improvment over what it replaced. Good enough that he hasn't felt the need to change it. You're only talking about .06" larger diameter venturis over the 1.08. Mine works more than pretty good, taking into consideration it's ability to handle steep angles, Trouble free nature and gas mileage, I'd say it's fantastic for a 30 dollar carb.

Pete under closer examination you will find everything in the carb is slightly oversized from the 108.. I found gasoline drips and many problems from attempting to use 2100/2150's larger than the 108.

I have been running a 1.21 like Pete said for a couple years, other than an occasional puff of fuel rich smoke it works like a champ, I still stall occasionally if I am on a pretty steep incline but I replaced a Holley 2300 series carb and this thing is much better... soon I am goin to 4.0 FI so I should solve the stalling problem.

Thanks guys for the advice I hooked up the vacuum advance re-timed and double checked the mix one last time gettting just over 20" vacuum and runs like a rape date so far I am impressed once I get another couple hundred more miles on it and finish the break-in of this rebuild I'll get it off road and back in the hill on the Cascade's and see if this all really paid off
