Getting the Wheeling Fever
Does anyone have any good ideas/swaps for the pisspoor overhead/interior light Toyota provided us with?

I installed a 1W Luxeon LED in place of the festoon bulb overhead. Just had to remove the metal reflector and then pop in the LED. Huge increase in light and it takes 1/10 the current to operate, only 80 mA:

You can also do a decent job with the stock dome light. As you can see in the first photo, I masked off the center of the light and sprayed it with a shiny chrome paint. Then install a new 10W festoon bulb and it will be a lot brighter than the old bulb. There are both 3W and 10W bulbs available and you might find that someone put a 3W bulb up top. The courtesy lights in the door (if present) use 3W bulbs. I put some 6-LED festoons there and they work quite well. In fact they were so bright, I put the old 3W incandescent bulb back in the driver's side door since I found it messed with my night vision more with the brighter LED than the yellower old bulb.
