first off welcome to the wire, it might be helpful to put your rigs info into your sig. also, you may want to be a little more specific about what the problem is... is it just a slow turnover? does it run like crap until its reached operating temp? what exactly is the problem?

sorry wasnt sure how to fill out sig. info, but yes its a slow turnover, once started it runs fine when warming up.it just feels like i dont have good cranking power, also it doesnt do it every time,it seems like it does it more often when trucks been running awhile and hasnt completly cooled down, i forgot to mention my egr lights on,dont know if thats related to vaccum or intake while starting

Would the voltage from the ignition wire have anything to do with it? I started at the grounds when I had a problem, but it turned out to be the starter. I checked the voltage on the yellow wire just to see and it was almost battery voltage and should be.

If the starter is dragging, it could be a couple of things - but I agree that the place to start is the ground side.

Disconnect the battery. Remove the bolts holding the ground cable to the inner fender and frame and remove the ground wire do you can see it. Examine it for corrosion. If it looks ok, clean the terminals, the area around the frame and fender bolt holes and the bolts with a wire brush and/or snadpaper and resinstall it. Before you connect the battery, clean the battery terminals (on the battery and the cable clamps) with a battery terminal brush and the (+) wire (big one) at the starter. There's another ground cable on the driver side from the inner fender to the frame - clean that one too. If that doesn't fix it, you probably need new battery cables or starter brushes.
