was able to do a budget lift on my monty and working on getting another 2"'s out of it as well without spending much. but... while getting the tires rotated on the trooper the guy had it about 3"'s in the air, dam it looked sweet. what is the cheapest/easiest way to get mabey up to 2"'s of lift out of it, purchasing a lift kit aside? is there any adjustments that i can make to add a little lift? on my monty i just had to throw in some genII springs in the rear and crank my t-bars which gave me 2"'s of basically what contitutes a free lift kit... is there something similar i can do with the wifes trooper? ive got the biggest nastiest suedo street friendly (no, theyre not a/t radials, more of a mud/snow hybrid) tires i could put on the 16 in rims... it looks tons better then the other 99% of completly stock ones rolling around the slc valley. this should probably be in tech, but i didnt know if it was even possible given the rig and my lack of wrenching on it... as for the monty i know it inside outside upsidedown (literally) but i know very little about the wifes ride. btw, whats the achilles heal in the suspension & drivetrain if a lift is done? trailing arms? tirerod ends? rear d-shaft u-joint? tia isuzu guys .

Cool. All you'd need is some OME springs for the rear. I lifted my moms Vehicross, which is pretty much a SWB trooper. I got 2-1/2" with just the springs. Then you can crank up the front to match. after that all you'd need to do is get an alignment. I used the OME 912's which you can get for around $90~100.

Also the tie-rods are pretty much the weakest link. But Matt from indepenent4x has some really nice ones to take care of that.

Some how I don't think this thing will be wheeled...ever. So the tie-rods are kind of a mut point.

Where can you get the OME 912's for $90-$100??? I have been looking for them and they seem to be around the $165 range.
Thanks,
Kevin

Darn, I got my hopes up for nothing . Oh well, thanks for clarifying.
Thanks,

My OME 912's gave me about 1.5-2" of lift, I got them for 188 shipped from Matt at Indy4x. They ride a heckuva lot better too.
Getting a couple inches of lift is as simple as swapping out the rear coils and cranking the bars. Just remember: 4 turns = roughly 1 inch. I did 6 turns into each side.

thanks for the input... sounds just like doing my monty. thats easy enough, 2"'s should be plenty without having to go to a different set of rims and bigger tires. thanks alot guys... btw, anybody got a link for those coils? or is there a donor junkyard set that i shouldotta keep my eyes open for?
