Need a Spot
I have a 1985 4runner 22re auto(with normal and power trannie option) completely original. I purchased a sr5 gauge cluster out of a 1985 toy pickup 2wd 22re auto (WITHOUT normal/power trannie option) extended cab shortbed. When I put this cluster in my 4runner I changed the oil pressure sending unit and the cluster goes crazy. It shows a full tank of fuel when it is only 1/2 and the temp goes to the red right away and the tach does not work. I borrowed a 1986 sr5 cluster with the normal power trannie option and that gauge cluster works perfectly and the tach works. So I took the non normal power optioned cluster and put it in a 1988 4wd 5speed pickup and that same cluster that would go crazy in the 4runner works fine in that one. I have come to the conclusion that toys with the auto and normal/power trannie modes have a different wiring somewhere. I am putting a 5 speed into my 4runner and I need to know which wires i need to remove and put into it for the instrument cluster with the full set of gauges to work in it. Thanks
