Which side is the fill hole for the 5-speed manual tranny on? Is it on the drivers side with a T-55 size torx bit? The '85 manual is confusing me.

It's on the driver's side about mid transmission. It's not a torx though. It is a large hex plug, about 3/4" or 19mm.

DON'T REMOVE THE TORX BOLT!!!

mine says clearly on it "Do not remove"

IIRC, it's on the pass side.....

Should be a hex head plug, close to the reverse light switch (i.e. the only thing with wires connected to the transmission) on the driver's side.

That's the way the '85 manual shows it but mine is on the drivers side. I had a neighbor come over last night and confirm it. I found out he's a damn good mechanic and worked strictly on the 22r motors for over a year. So needless to say I'm buying him a 12-pack when I get ready to replace the timing chain.

BTW, the oil was barely coming out of the fill hole and look clean. So I tighten the fill hole back up and will leave well enough alone. Thanks...
