Hello again guys:
Here I go again. I can never leave things well enough alone. I'm making plans again to pull out my 2.6L, and install a 4.3L Vortec. Has anyone here had experience with the process, and/or can you point me in the right direction. I've spent a little time searching in the Isuzu archives, but can't seem to get a hit.
Here is what I have in equipment: 95 Chevy 4.3L Vortec 95 4L60E that came with the above motor Dana 300 Xfer case.
I'd like to stick to the 4L60E because I'd still like a little economy when I decide to drive the vehicle long distances. On occasion I still us it as a daily driver. The Dana 300 seemed like a no-brainer because if it's durability and gearing.
I still have an IFS up front, but I'm unsure if the motor will clear the diff.
Any input guys?
Best regards, Roberto Dean

http://www.off-road.com/isuzu/v6trooper.htmlI'm unsure if it would clear the stock diff... there is quite a bit of clearence with the 2.6, and I don't think it would be a problem. A body lift and a higher mounted engine would solve that problem. But would also raise the center of gravity.

Stinkbug on this forum has the same engine swapped into the same vehicle. Same t-case as well; but a 700R4 between the two instead of a 4L60E.

Yep I did the same swap. My 700R4 is the same tranny as a 4L60e but without the electronic controls. I dont know if the motor will fit around the stock front end, as I did a SAS at the same time. If you push the motor far enough back against the firewall You'll be able to run a stock fan and clutch up front with the radiator in the stock location. My distributor rubs the firewall, but I found out you can still fit everything with the motor another inch forward. You will have to take a BFH to the passenger side floor in a couple spots, but nothing too disgusting, also you'll wanna use stock S10/Blazer manifolds as they are the only ones I found that fit between the frame rails. Good luck.

They have had different versions of the 4.3 since 1988. I had a 1994 Blazer with one and they were in alot of older S-10's.

Alright I stand corrected. I think it might be, the vortec v6 only came in s10s/blazers before 95, not the full sizes, which I was looking at.
