Not sure which word to use curious if anyone has done it to this extent: Want to get as much room in those inner fenders as possible. Has anyone here done this much trimming? i've got a 4" suspension lift and 33's, when turning and i hit even just a curb, let alone flexing on the trail i get rubbing right where this picture shows it trimmed. also hoping to get some of cjm's fender flairs to go along with this fender well trim any ideas, suggestions, thoughts?

yes i have bumpstops, no it's not my foot
this only occured during flex, 33x12.5, rims have 4" backspacing, 4" suspension lift and it rubs on turns only....nobody has done the fender trim pictured?

there is a write up on it somewhere but i cant remember right now. i think if you had less backspacing you wouldnt rub though.

You can hammer the standing seam flat inside the front wheel well if not already done. Also, for minor rubbing, consider moving the front axle forward 3/4" or so. I did this on my '85 years ago and it helped a great deal with tire rubbing up front. Only my 33x15.50 Swampers rubbed after doing that relocation. This was with stock steering and an adjustable draglink. I just redrilled center holes in the spring perches, one side already had the extra hole, I just duplicated it on the other perch.

Yes, Chris Geiger (now works at Trail Gear), I think?, did a full write-up on it when he did his a few years ago. (Yellow flatbed eventually exo'ed?) I don't remember where I read it though. Here, PBB, maybe even 4 Wheel & Off Road mag? My memory is, uh, what was I saying...
Anyway, iirc, he cut out the offending metal like you have and welded in some new stuff out of the way. I don't remember if he used the old metal and added to it or what. Seems like he was running 37's. It made a lasting impression on me. We were all just kids back then...
How far forward have you moved yer axle?
