Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have the 9-position adjustable Rancho 9000 shocks on my Trooper. The "adjuster knob" for one of the rear shocks does not seem to be functioning properly. I can only get the shock to adjust to 7 positions rather than 9. And ... the adjuster doesn't seem to impact the stiffness of the shock at all (unlike moving the adjuster thru the 9 positions on one of the other shocks). I removed and reinstalled the adjuster knob on the shock (while the shock was still mounted to the rig), but that didn't seem to change anything. Anybody have any ideas? Thx ... Fred.

Ranchos have lifetime warranty. Visit the place where you bought the Ranchos and talk to the salespeople.

Do you have a frozen adjuster? It may seem like you have 7 positions, but maybe the adjuster is just screwing out without the adjuster/lever on the inside of the shock moving. Take the adjusters off. Put some Deep Creep inside the shock. Hit the inside piston/lever a few times to free it up. Put in plenty of grease so it doesn't happen again. Adjusters will freeze up with rust in just a few months if they are not adjusted.

Thanks guys. I bought the shocks online and unfortunately I can't find my receipt. Called the place I bought them from online but without the receipt, I'm hosed. I will take the adjusters off and Deep Creep 'em and "poke 'em" a little. Wasn't sure if there was something outside of the obvious that might be going on here. Thanks again <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> ... Fred.
