Thanks ya'll, and this should be fun!

I lived in the Capital of the Confederacy for 8 years - Richmond, VA - so I've been indoctrinated already. I know the War ain't over yet. It took me about 6 months to get back to saying "you guys" (NE Ohio colloquialism) rather than "ya'll". I actually had one of those nice young blueblood Virginia ladies with 4 names - Virginia Leigh Madison Garrett - tell me "I'm glad you're going back to where you belong" when I moved back up here.

'Yoters are quite acceptable down South, moreso than up here in union country. I will not be putting anything resembling the Stars and Bars on mine!

Congratulations!!! That is awesome, and I will admit I am a little jealous lol. I am probably going to be stuck in CT for a little while after I graduate but I would love to eventually end up around the NC area.

...ya'll...

Sorry, Joe, but THAT, coming out of YOU is *damn* funny.

I'm looking forward to seeing the drawl return to your Sicilian and Puerto Rican household. It'll be good for your blood pressure, bro.

Never will be. Luckily, Daisy Duke makes it bearable.

Congrats on the new opportunity, Joe!

Will you at least be jumping over some out of service bridges in it?

Congrats, Joe!!! You will like the culture in many ways, not in others, although it is changing a lot in the urban areas I hear. Out in the boonies... well... there are some 'opportunities' as the software world likes to call them.

Folks tend to be incredibly friendly and hospitable - yet, after a while, you will realize that you don't know them at all. It takes a long time to 'break in' and be accepted. Again, that is changing. Roots go deep though.

BTW, I noticed a misspelling above: it should be
"thu wawahahv Nawthawn Ahggreshun"

Just let me know when!

We used to drive up north from Corolla and camp up close to the VA line (you can't drive on the beach into VA, or at least couldn't). It's about a 13 mile ride on the beach, if I recall. Probably not legal to camp, but we were young and dumb.

How are you settling in in Hampton, Bill? Things going well so far?
