Ok, about 6 months ago I purchased a 1994 Isuzu Trooper 4x4 5speed. Now I am going to hopefully be moving about 6 hours away and need to sell it and buy something that will be good on gas for the frequent trips home to visit family. Here is what I have:
It's a 1994 Isuzu Trooper 4x4 5speed. It has 241,000 miles on the truck itself. I just put a used tranmission in it that had about 80,000 miles on it along with a brand new Clutch, Pressure plate, T/O bearing, pilot bearing and new flywheel. The engine itself is supposed to have about 120,xxx on it. The previous owner told me that he had it replaced. The previous owner owned a trophy shop and used the Trooper to deliver them, so most of the miles are all highway. I put Aisin manual hubs on it. OME 919 springs from Indy4x along with 2" poly spacers, ball joint spacers, flipped the BJ's and edelbrock shocks. At the time of the lift I put all 4 new balljoints on it also. It has a custom 1 piece lighter driveshaft. I put 15" Isuzu Snowflakes on it, even the spare and it is running 33x12.50x15 tires right now. The tires are not very good though. I just had the windows tinted 5% on the rears and 35% on the front 2. The interior is excellent and everything works on it accept the AC. It runs excellent and the 4wheel drive works great.
The onlything wrong with the trooper is that the rear bumper on the drivers side was backed into something and pushed it in a little and caused a small dent in the lower quarter and a small dent in the bodyline above the rear tire. The passenger side rear fender also has a small dent in it. Other than that the body is in excellent condition with good paint. It is RED by the way.
The frame seems to be really solid with minor surface rust on it, but it appears to have been undercoated at some point years ago and it is flaking off. The body has no rust on it at all that I can find.
I'm just looking for an estimate to kinda go off of. I plan on either putting it on ebay and maybe trying to sell it locally. So if you have any ideas, please let me know.
Also, factory options are: Heated folding power mirrors, power windows, power locks, cruise, tilt, AC (doesn't work), rear defrost, rear wiper, delay wipers and it has an aftermarket Kenwood CD/MP3 player.
Thanks,
Kevin

A very craftily worded "for sale" ad.. I'm surprised the mods let it go!! The thing about older vehicles is that alot people won't give two poops about some of the custom work and parts you have put into and they will almost never pay you what those items are actually worth. My advice is to use Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds pricing (adjusted for mileage and damage) plus something for your extra parts and labor (that does not mean KBB + Tranny cost + OME spring cost + ball joint cost, etc) to decide on a price that you would realistically sell the truck for. It is almost never what you think it is worth, but it will allow you to get the the Troop on the block so you can move on to your new vehicle with a down payment. Just my $.02. good luck!!

I moved it over here, as he is ASKING how much it's worth, so that it would get more input from fellow 'Zu drivers (note number of posts).
Once he figures out what he's going to do and tack a price to it, he can hang out his F/S shingle. Hope that makes sense.

I'm not trying to sell it here. I want to list it on ebay and see what it goes for. I'm just wondering what a good price to start it at would be. I'm not even ready to sell it yet, it will be a few weeks. KBB.com lists it from between $2800 to $3700, the lowest being fair condition. I believe it is excellent condition minus the 2 small cosmetic flaws that it has. I am the 2nd owner of it and it has a clean title and clean carfax also. I just checked it.
What I'm really looking for is what someone here would spend on this vehicle, or if someone has recently sold one similar to it and at what price.
Thanks for the help,
Kevin

The last line makes it a for sale ad. Because of that, I am locking it.
If you want value, KBB, Edmunds, your local classifieds are all places that will help you set the value.

This hurts, I know. Start biting a towel:
High mileage, 12 year old vehicle with modifications and non-functioning AC and body dents. Engine and transmission are unknowns- not original and of unknown quality/workmanship. Gets relatively poor gas mileage. Will need new tires.
That is what non-Isuzu fans are going to see. So, pick your advertising venues carefully.
