Well I've got a stealer story classic on my hands! My 93 Toyota Truck threw a rod, or so the stealer said, back in Feb. of this year. They wanted 6K$ for a new engine to fix my truck. I passed on it and decided to go the route of a 3.4L swap. Got some pieces together for the swap and this past weekend I trailered my truck down to my uncle's shop for the swap to begin. Well, just for fun he decided to pull the oil pan and check out the bottom end of the engine, to see this broken rod. Well, he called me last night and said, the bottom end of the truck looks fine, but the headgasket has a crack in it. Well, he buys a headgasket this morning and puts it on the truck and what do you know, it starts on the first crank, after sitting for over 4 months. I cannot believe the stealer actually said I needed an entire engine for $6000 and my uncle fixed it for $60. The name of this dealer is Toyota on Nicholasville, it's in Central KY. For those of us around Central Ky, never take your vehicle to this dealer, unless you want poor, unreliable service. We tried to call the dealer a minute ago, but both managers in were busy at the time. Good for them, I might get calmed down some! I really cannot believe this happened! Just wanted to put this out there!
