hey guys i need some help. im supposed to do the tellico this weekend, but at this point i dont know if its a great idea or not. My raider seems to be falling apart....

it makes a metalic squeeling noise, kinda like a metal lathe does when its running. It happens when i drive and gets louder as i brake, i dont think the pads are bad since they are about 8 months old, but i will check them. any ideas.

oh yeah, and she leaks oil now, so i really dont know if this trip is a good idea or not, cant afford to have it die 5 hours from home... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

oh yeah, its a 89 raider v6 offroad package

Sounds like the wear indicators on your brake pads. The ones on my Monty have a metal strip attached, which rubs on the rotor when the pads have worn down to their minimum thickness - this makes a high-pitched metal-on-metal squeal (<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/oink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />).

Cheers <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
