I have my spare tire (New P225) on driver's-side rear and a P235 with little tread left on passenger-side rear. Is there enough difference in these tire sizes to cause damage to the Spider-Gears in the rearend? It's not a locker, it's open... I have a new P235, but I will have to wait till payday to get another tire.

You'll be just fine. Especially with a stock open diff.
It just means that the side with the 235 is going to be rotating at a slower rpm than the side with the 225 at a given mph. Your differential will just be doing what it does normally when you make a turn-- differentiating between the mismatch in tire rpm. Also, a well worn 235/75R15 is not going to be too far off from a new 225/75R15.
