CEL - P0155 "HO2S Heater Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 1"

Where is this O2 sensor located? If the wiring looks OK, what electrical check can I make to determine if it's bad?

Thanks,
jim

It's the front sensor on the driver side. It may just need to be replaced. I am not sure of a way to test it though.

marc,

Thanks for the reply. Can you be a bit more specific as to the location?

Do you know if you have to get to it from underneath the car or can it be replaced through the hood?

Thanks,
Jim

I am gonna assume that the 2002 has the same exhaust routing as my 98. You will have to crawl underneath your ride on the drivers side. The sensor you are needing to find will be in front of the cat (towards the front of the vehicle). You can't miss it.

Your lucky number is 10. Can't get any more specific than this... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

They really are not much work to change out as long as you can get the O2 sensor sockets from autozone (loan-a-tool). Should take you more than 10 minutes of course let the truck cool down first. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I FOUND IT! Pictures/diagrams are worth $1000!

Do you really need a special socket? It looks like I can get an open end wrench on it or at the very least a crescent wrench.

I just replaced all my sensors over the last couple of days. I used the special socket on both sensors after the cats. On the front two I used vice grips. The special socket was ~$12 and it is worth it. Made the job a lot easier. I wish I bought it first so I had it for the front two.

You may not have enough room for an open end wrench.

Use anti seize on the threads when reinstalling a sensor. New sensors probably already have some on it, mine did.

OK, I'll take your advice and get the socket. Anything to make the job easier! Thanks.
