Need a Spot
Okay guys,I have a question. I got this 92 and it's a 3.0 auto. I have been driving it around the last couple of days and everything been fine but today went through a drive thru for some lunch and the temps went up where it has never has been before. I have only had this for 5 days so i'm still feeling this thing out. The guage normally runs right in the middle but went to almost 3/4. It did cool off as soon as i started back to the shop (1 mile). I was able to push on the fan with a rag and stop it while running(guage reading straight up). When I shut the truck off the fan keeps on spinning. If i let it idle in park it doesn't seen to get hot.I know these fan clutches are thermosat controlled but i thought it would kick in at tese temps? How do you test them? Maybe a thermostat sticking? I thought i would run it by you experienced folk first.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Roll Me Over
Since it is currently an intermittant problem, your cheapest route is to flush the coolant system and replace the T-stat with a factory one, don't bother using the cheap aftermarket ones. If the over heating prob continues you should have the radiator rotted out.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.
