Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a napa rebuild kit for my carburetor. The aap diaphram in the kit doesn't line up with the holes. This is an extra carb, but the one currently on my truck was also rebuilt with a napa kit and its aap broke so i replaced it with the original one off my spare carb and I now see that both the napa diaphrams have the holes in the same place.
The accelerator pump in the kit also is different from the original. The metal part on the inside of the original has a continuous round lip, while the napa part has a divot about a mm or 2. Is this a problem or will it work OK
Its for a 1985 22R

I am contemplating trying to return the whole kit and finding another. Does anyone know of any good alternatives. Can I get an oem kit?

thanks for any help
Ryan

I normally use the GPSorensen kit from Autozone. AAPs in from any aftermarket kit will still need to be replaced about every 2 years I've found. Best thing is to buy the AAP from toyota.

You tried flipping it over to line up the holes, right? I remember I couldn't get mine to line up.. till I flipped it over <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

over the years i had 2 aap rubbers from rebuild kits. one was n/g to begin with, the other did not last long. i recommend bite the bullet and fork over the $ for the toy part and your done for many years of service.
