I just ordered EB's brand new rv head and 268 cam for my 85 4runner yesterday. Looks as though he has good parts for fair prices. He has a cam just for the carbureted engine do not be afraid to email him he usually replies within a few minutes. Jared

I have an EB cam...just a matter of swapping it out and adjusting the valves. Know that if you break the head loose to do the swap, you should do the head gasket, too. At least that's my opnion. I seem to recall a healthy discussion about that recently. But as it's a carbed motor, it's no biggie.

Tell you what, I'd go with whatever EB says.

I went with another brand than EB when I did mine. The power increase is great but adjusting the valves was not a one time thing to get them quiet. I think I have different clearences on most of the valves now just to keep them quiet. I have heard this is not a problem with EB's cams though. Next one I do I will go with EB products.

Bear in mind that worn valve adjustment screws can also come into play with valve noise; flat spots on a convex surface is what you see. Cheap enough to replace.

Even if the decision is a little close I would go with EB's products every time.

1) the man is honest
2) he knows what he is doing (like few others)
3) no one else in the trade posts regularly on forum helping us out.
4) with 30k miles experience... his stuff works, hassle free and he stands behind everything he sells
5) his pricing is fair

What else can you ask for?

I agree with MrW. EB knows these little engines inside and out. I enjoy the engnbldr cam I have in my truck.

I have a Comp Cams 252S.
think the profile's near the same as EB's 261 or his RV cam, can't remember which.

anyway, point is, the low to midrange torque increasing cams are the way to go. some guys put those HP increasing cams on, but they don't make power until up over 4500rpm-5000rpm -- how usable is that to most people?
