Ok, so as soon as I can I am planning on taking my old alt out to have autozone check it. However, I believe it is bad. Dash lights are on, trouble starting, draining battery, etc.

Question is this...how hard of a replacement is this? Of course I am going to put a bigger one in . I know it isnt a direct bolt in, and I have read some of the articles. BUT, if you have upgraded your alternator in your 2.6 please share some of your story as I like to have all info possible!

Would this be a better setup to run lots of lights and maybe a wench off of? Or do I need 2 batteries connected to this bigger alt?

TIA,
Chris

Chris - Just tell the fine folks at AlterStart that you want them to build a high-output version of this one for your Trooper. --- It'll bolt right up, and have plenty of juice to run ALL of those lights that you showed me (and then some!)
