I'm pondering injector work too. I have a core 22re to rebuild, but its a 93, and I have an 87 runner. The plan was to send a set off to RCE for setup. I was told that the "clips" needed to be changed... does anyone know what years the injectors will directly swap without hacking the harness? I really dont' want to hack anything.

This subject is a fun one. Not only are you dealing with different connector styles, but also differences in the injectors themselves.
87' and earlier used the squared connectors with the spring wire retainer, nozzle is a pintle design and they are low resistance requiring the external resistor. 85'-87' generally interchange without a problem.
88' Everything applies above with the exception of the wiring connection and nozzle. 88' uses the newer style (non wire) connectors and the nozzle is a two hole design instead of the pintle.
89'-95' are high resistance (no external resistor) use a push on connector and are a two hole nozzle. Fully ineterchangeable with each other.
*If you change the connectors on your wiring harness and use the other injectors, one of two things will happen. Burn up your injectors internal electronics, or engine won't run due to fuel starvation.

Thanks a lot, very informative. I know what to look for now. Maybe I can find someone to swap some 93's for 87s or 88s ( I want to re-do both )
