Well beings that my trucks engine shot two rods out, I'm going to have to find another engine. I've looking around and have found a few used engines with around 80k miles on then for 1600 but I don't think I would trust them I dont know if they have new head gaskets. But people say that Jasper makes great remanufactured engines...anyone had any luck with them?

$1600 is a bit high for a used one, especially w/80K on it it would be do for service not long after you put it in. Unfortunately reman'd ones here in CA run about $2500. Finding a used one that is in need of a rebuild would be the cheapest way to go. I know a few people that have gotten good engines from Rising Sun Engines
More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else. '90 X-cab 4.88's 33 BFG AT's, rr ARB, Headers, Ignition upgrade, cold air induction. '91 X-cab 5.29's 315's BFG MT's, rr ARB, custom bumper and flatbed

There's a guy over on yotatech selling a reman. w/ 24k miles on it for a fair price; I don't know him, in fact I was considering buying the engine. He sounds like he really wants rid of it too and I believe he has a K&N and possibly headers.
A lot of people don't realize it, but the 89-91 engines aren't quite the same as 92-95 so be sure you get the right one or don't mind some modifications to make everything work.

I bought mine from Oregon Engines, they offer a liftime warranty on their motors. I am currently putting it in my truck now but from what I can tell it is a very well built motor They use Rockgaskets and Vition seals. Everything was assembled properly and all the gaskets you need to install the engine are included in the package.

I've got a used one if someone wants to buy it. The miles are unkown as the gauge cluster was changed. But it runs beautiful. It sounds as good as my engine which was just rebuilt. The only problem is the valve cover gaskets are leaking. I can change those if someone offers the right price...

I, know of one for 600.00 w/150k miles. The owner is a Toyota mechanic. He stated that the engine runs great with no problems.

Thanks, but this truck is a daily driver so used motors with more than 100k probably would have me doing it again too soon.
