Getting the Wheeling Fever

I have a cj7 with very low miles but the carter bbd is giving me a lot of problems. I would like to replace it with a carb without the computer assit. First, is this possible? Second, what are some of your reccomendations for replacement carbs? I have seen a conversion kit for a fomoco 2100 is this a good replacement?

Howdy Greg The computer also controls the dist.. If you put a different carb on there the dist will give you fits! I would first make huge attempts at fixing the carb. ANYTHING you do to the carb will require substantial dist changes.

Do an H.E.I. dist. conversion, an a 2100 carb exchange, about $400 , an forget about it, the best money you will ever spend on that tub.

I have a BBD and it's great. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />Non-computer controlled. 1/2 a can of crab cleaner every 6 months and it's been great for 3+ years.
