The manual switch on the roof works so it's not the bulb. I've looked but can't find the door switch, no familiar plunger type. Anyone know where it might be??? [Re: oregonzuki] #711812 04/16/06 07:43 PM Anonymous Unregistered The shop manual for the '98 Tracker (I would expect the circuitry to be the same) shows the same wire from the door jamb switch controls both the door alarm module and the dome light. Therefore, if one works the other must. My experience troubleshooting electrical problems says sometimes one of the described symptoms is in error or the problem is intermittent. If that is not the case here, maybe you should call ghostbusters. [Re: oregonzuki] #711814 04/23/06 04:06 AM Anonymous Unregistered I looked at the schematic again. The organization of the FSM is frustrating--I find it hard to find anything. Your problem is most likely a diode which enables the driver's door switch to activate the alarm and also turn on the light. The other switches are connected directly to the light. I remember some conversations about the diode in another make vehicle. In that one, and probably in yours, the diode was located in the dome light fixture. Check it out and let us know what you find.
