Its time for me to change the fluids in my truck. When I changed them out the last time I put redline MT90 (i think) in the tranny and mobil 1 in the rest. Are these still the prefered fluids for these? Is there anything new and better to give a try? Mostly interested in the tranny fluid.

Those are my preferred fluids, except for Amsoil in the auto tranny <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I finally found a Redline distributor in ANC (400 mi) to give a try. Proof is -40 to 50F. Hopefully can post results next Feb.

How often should fluids other than oil be changed (tranny/diff)?

30,000, unless you're towing then you'd probly want to change them about every 20,000

I'm trying the Pennzoil synthetic in my engine. Similar ratings as Mobil 1 and a bit cheaper. Really just a test, I'll swap out to all Redline at the next full fluid change. Redline is my choice of synthetics, Amsoil, Royal Purple, et al are just as good.

Good to hear! I'll be ordering my new stuff within the next couple days, since there hasn't been some miracle lubricant come out in the last year I'll stick with what I know the truck likes. I'm sure the old girl will appreciate it. I use dino juice for the motor, I've tried the different synthetics and I get better gas mileage and a smoother running engine with the cheap stuff, what gives? The rest of the truck does prefer the synthetic goodies though.
