Front strut question #65040 06/02/03 11:59 AM

Would the bilstein front shock/spring from a '98 fit on an '02? Was curious if it was worth buying a set of bilsteins with 76k miles on em, or just fork out the cash for new ones. I understand people have had Bilsteins on their rigs for over 150k miles w/o problems. Any advice?

No advice on the bilsteins, but I can tell that it will fit. 96-02 uses the same components.

so i guess my next question is, How long is Bilstein shocks good for?. Is a 76k mile shock not even worth reusing?

I guess it depends on how much they're asking for it. What's the going rate?

150 bucks includes both front shocks AND springs.

Sounds like a pretty bad deal to me. You can get a set of front Billies new for $160-170. I just bought a pair of them with 2k miles on them for half that price. IMO if you're going to all that trouble to swap front shocks I'd do it right the first time so you don't have to mess around with it again.

My .02
