I know the newer trucks have a factory harness in the jack door. Did the 98's have this as well?

Robbie, you don't know where it was do you? It's supposedly inside the jack door in the cargo area. I poked around in there and didn't find anything.

I could probably do a better job when I get home. I was just curious if anyone knew. The newer 2000's and such service manual that I have says that's where it's supposed to be.

Joe, I've got one in exactly that spot. Its taped up and out of the way to the brake light wires running down the passneger side. Then again, mine could possibly be for a rear window wiper and defrost that would have been wired for a hard top. Anyway there is a harness there but nowhere else in the back that I can see. I've got all of the plastic panels pulled off of the back right now so it would have to be pretty well hidden for me to miss it.

when looking for a container to hold drained brake fluid, find a container that is different from the beverage you are currently consuming.

Thanks Jeremy/ I'll have to get in there and do a better job of finding it. I'll still not have any trailer lights till the way back though.

Jerry is bringing an adapter for me to use a regular 4 pin trailer harness.

Thanks again.

Joe

We had to pull off the plastic trim piece on the driver side. As was said, it was taped up and out of the way. You MIGHT be able to find it by fishing ure hand up there, but we had to pull the panel.

JOe: I helped a neighbor a long time ago. Its not actually in the jack comaprtment, but behnd it. I cut through the plastic compartment liner with plans to splice into the wiring harness. I found the plug that came from factory. It was folded over and taped w/ electrical tape.
